What We Believe
We accept the Holy Scriptures (39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament) as the infallible Word of God being of Divine inspiration. We recognize them as our sole authority in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the living God, the Holy Trinity of Divine persons in perfect unity Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each of whom is sovereign, co equal and co eternal.
We believe in God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is holy, righteous, full of grace, mercy, compassion and love.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God, truly man truly God. We believe in His virgin birth; in His perfect life and teaching; in His substitutionary, atoning death on the cross when He triumphed over Satan, sin and death, in His bodily resurrection and His ascension into heaven, where He now sits in glory at the right hand of God the Father.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, whose work is indispensable to regenerate the sinner, to lead him to repentance, to give him faith in Christ, and to inspire him to full commitment to the Lordship of Christ; to sanctify the believer, to equip him with spiritual gifts and power in this present life and fit him to enjoy fellowship with God.
We believe that, as a result of the Fall, all men are sinful in nature, guilty in the sight of the Holy God, and subject to the penalty which in His wrath and condemnation He has decreed against it.
We believe that through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose death was a perfect atonement, the sinner is reconciled to God, who, instead of reckoning to us our sins, reckons Christ’s righteousness to our account. Salvation is therefore by grace and not by human merit.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly and gloriously to earth, to receive His saints to Himself, and to be seen of all men. As righteous judge, He will divide all men into two categories the lost and the saved. The unbelieving will be condemned by Him to hell where eternally they will be punished for their sins under the righteous sentence of God. Those whose faith is in Christ will be saved eternally and will enter into the joy of their Lord.
We believe in the ordinance of believer’s Baptism as a means of open testimony of newness of life for those who have personally repented of their sins and have placed their faith in Christ for salvation. We believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper, affirming that the bread and wine are symbols serving as a remembrance of the body and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that a New Testament Church is a body of born again believers associated together in prayer, worship, ministry, teaching, evangelizing and fellowship of the gospel; that it is an independent autonomous body.
We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every believer to share in the making of disciples. The new birth enables each believer to lead a life of love and witnessing by personal effort and to live and grow in harmony with the gospel of Christ.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers.
We believe every Christian is to seek to make the will of Christ supreme in his own life and in human society.
We believe that God is the source of all blessings, all that we have belongs to Him; that we are privileged to serve Him with time, talents and material possessions; that we should contribute cheerfully, regularly, proportionately and liberally for the advancement of His cause on earth.
